Solar energy converters
Develop and characterize highly efficient materials for photovoltaics by using the upconversion, downconversion or downshifting processes;
Explore RE ions embedded in inorganic materials for spectral converters in solar cells;
Development of thin films based on CZTS, CIGS and other matrices for absorber layers in solar cells.
Two main lines will be addressed:
the development of efficient thin-film CZTS and CIGS-based materials for solar cell absorber layers and
RE doped and codoped transparent hosts for solar cell converters focusing on the downconversion, quantum cutting and upconversion phenomena. The samples will be fully characterized by the optical techniques
